Chris Brooks currently serves as the Deputy City Clerk for the City of Kent, Washington, starting in October 2024, and has an extensive background in administrative roles within various municipalities. Prior experience includes positions as an Administrative Clerk for the City of Burien and as an Administrative Assistant at Kimley-Horn. From 2008 to 2021, Chris Brooks held the role of Head Administrative Clerk at the City of Holyoke, contributing significantly as a Grant Writer for the Parks & Recreation Department. In addition to public service, Chris Brooks is a freelance writer and author, with notable works including "The Cigar Box Poems," published in February 2020, and "beyond the paneling," released in April 2021. Educational credentials include a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction from Bay Path University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Western New England University. Chris Brooks also has experience as a Creative Writing Teacher at the Peck School.
