The City of Kentwood is a safe, prosperous and diverse community that is home to vibrant neighborhoods and flourishing businesses, making it a welcoming place to live, work and raise a family. What began as a small agricultural township has grown into a thriving suburban city with more than 51,000 residents. As one of the fastest-growing cities in Michigan, Kentwood attracts many first-time homebuyers and young families with its outstanding public school systems, higher education and workforce training opportunities, variety of housing options and convenient access to shopping, dining, parks, trails and recreation. Our residents enjoy a wide array of City services and one of the highest-rated major street networks in Kent County. Additionally, our tax structure is favorable to business and ranks among the lowest in the state.
