ARCH Site Coordinator - Valleywood Middle School at City of Kentwood

Rya Northrop is an experienced educational professional with a background in various roles within the community and school systems. Currently serving as the ARCH Site Coordinator at Valleywood Middle School for the City of Kentwood since July 2017, Rya is responsible for organizing lesson plans, managing staff, and overseeing programming. Previous positions include Membership Specialist and Leader on Duty at the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids, Circulation Assistant at Henika District Library, Substitute Teacher through EDUStaff, and multiple roles at YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin, including Outdoor Educator and Waterfront Coordinator. Rya holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Anthropology from Grand Valley State University, where involvement as a Telephone Outreach Caller and Team Leader focused on raising awareness for the Grand Valley Fund was also undertaken.
