Chester Hugo has extensive experience in engineering and emergency services, currently serving as a Senior Engineering Technician for the City of Ketchikan since October 2007. Responsibilities include firefighting, emergency medical duties, and participation in the Emergency Dive Recovery Team. Chester is actively involved in community service as a volunteer firefighter and serves on the Ketchikan Museums Advisory Board, having been appointed in June 2015. Additionally, as a member of the Safety Committee and contract/grants administrator, Chester works with various governmental agencies to secure funding for municipal projects. Chester's leadership skills extend to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers as the Safety Committee President and Local 1547 Unit 104 Chairman. An accomplished classical guitar teacher since June 2004, Chester also facilitated team-building initiatives as a Ropes Course Facilitator and has experience in GIS analysis with Provo City. Chester holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration with a focus on Emergency Management from Colorado State University Global and an AS in Design Engineering from Brigham Young University - Idaho.
