Stephen Nieto

Stephen Nieto is a seasoned professional in urban design and land development, currently serving as the Director of Urban Design and Land Development at The Altum Group since March 2020. Nieto also contributes as a Planning Commissioner for the City of La Quinta. Previously, as the Principal Owner of The Urban Design Collective, Nieto focused on human-scale planning. Additional experience includes a Senior Designer role at South West Concepts, Inc., and an Associate position at AECOM, specializing in various aspects of architecture and urbanism. Nieto has been involved with the Friends of Park 101 as a Board member and has held positions at Gensler and GreenbergFarrow, further establishing a robust background in the field. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Architecture from UCLA and a Bachelor's degree from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona.
