Christopher Solberg has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Christopher started their career as a Housing Intern at USDA Rural Development in 1997. From there, they worked as a Community Development Specialist at Southern Iowa Council of Governments for four years. In 2004, they joined The Schemmer Associates as a Planner-GIS Specialist. In 2002, they started their own blog called The Baseball Opinion, where they served as the Owner and Writer until 2012. In 2014, they became a Board Member of the American Planning Association-Nebraska Chapter and also assumed the roles of Vice President and later President at NEBRASKA PLANNING AND ZONING ASSOCIATION. In 2018, they started their blog called Rural Resurrection, where they are the Owner and Editor. Currently, since 2010, they are working at the City of La Vista, where they have held various positions including City Planner, Senior Planner, and their current role as Deputy Community Development Director.
Christopher Solberg earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University. In February 2006, they obtained certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners (APA).
