Philip Smith Jr. PhD has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and organizations. Philip has served as the Chief of Police for the City of Lakewood since 2023, where they provide leadership and oversight to a 400-person police agency. Prior to this, they worked as an Organizational Development Consultant for Global Relations LLC in 2022 and as a Consultant for Three Towers Strategic Consulting, LLC from 2020. Philip also served as an Adjunct Criminal Justice/Leadership Instructor at Southern NH University since 2008. Previously, they held roles as the Chief of Police and Deputy Police Chief for the City of Roswell, New Mexico. Furthermore, they worked as the Town Administrator/Welfare Director for ATKINSON, TOWN OF, from 2009 to 2011 and as the Chief of Police for the Town of Alton, NH, from 2007 to 2009.

Philip Smith Jr. holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Global Leadership Organizational Leadership from the Indiana Institute of Technology. Philip also has a Certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University.
