Craig Akard has an extensive work experience in the public sector. Craig started their career at the Lawton Police Department in 1984, serving as a Police Officer and later as a Detective, Lieutenant, and ultimately Police Captain. In 2005, they also worked as a Board Trustee for the Oklahoma Police Pension and Retirement System. In 2017, they transitioned to the Lawton Fire Department as a Planning Specialist. Currently, they hold multiple roles at the City Of Lawton, including Employee Development Coordinator, Deputy Director - Human Resources, and most recently, Human Resources Director.
