Greg Olmer

Assistant Director Parks And Recreation at City of Leander

Greg Olmer, CPRP, currently serves as the Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Leander since February 2023. Prior to this role, Olmer was the Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Buda from October 2017 to November 2022, focusing on enhancing the quality of life for residents. From September 2015 to September 2017, Olmer was the Superintendent of Recreation in Wichita, Kansas, providing high-quality life experiences through world-class amenities and activities. The role of Recreation Supervisor in Georgetown from 2006 to August 2015 involved creating diverse recreational opportunities to enhance community well-being. Earlier in the career, Olmer worked as the Athletics and Aquatics Program Director at YMCA from 2005 to 2006, managing comprehensive recreation programs. Olmer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, specializing in Community Health and Physical Education, from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln between 2000 and 2003.

Leander lies on the northeast edge of the Texas Hill Country, roughly ten miles due west of Interstate 35 on US Hwy 183, just north of Austin, TX.
