Fire Chief at City of Livonia

Robert Jennison has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of fire and emergency services. Robert began their career in 1989 as a Fire Lieutenant/Training Officer/Paramedic with Lyon Twp Fire Department and continued to work there until 1996. From 1991 to 1997, they served as a MICU Paramedic at Huron Valley Ambulance. Robert then joined Pittsfield Twp Fire Dept as a Firefighter/Paramedic from 1996 to 1998.

In 1998, Jennison started working at Livonia Fire & Rescue as a Firefighter/Engineer/Paramedic. Robert held this role until 2017. During this time, they also worked as a Battalion Chief/Training Officer at Livonia Fire Rescue from 1998 to 2022 and as a Lieutenant from 2017 to 2018. Robert later served as a Senior Captain/Training Officer from 2018 to 2021 and as a Battalion Chief/Training Officer from 2021 to 2022.

In addition to their work in the fire department, Jennison owned and served as the President of Jennison Services-EMS Education since 2005. Robert also worked as a Lead EMS Instructor at Baker College from 2000 to 2004.

Most recently, Jennison has been employed by the City of Livonia as the Fire Chief since May 2022.

Robert Jennison earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Public Safety Studies from Siena Heights University in 2012. Robert then pursued further education and obtained a Master's Degree in Emergency Management/Homeland Security from Eastern Michigan University between 2014 and 2016. In 2014, Robert also completed the School of Fire Staff & Command program at Eastern Michigan University. Subsequently, in 2017 and 2018, they attended the Emergency Management & Homeland Security Training Center to become a Professional Emergency Manager.
