Christie Alarcon has extensive work experience in various roles related to community development, grants management, and operations. Christie has served as the Community Development Director at the City of Lompoc since 2014, where they are responsible for coordinating various activities such as planning, building inspection, code enforcement, and economic development. Prior to that, they worked at the Santa Barbara Foundation as a Katherine Harvey Fellow, where they invested in social sector leaders to promote positive change. From 2011 to 2014, they were the Director of Operations at the Good Samaritan Shelter, overseeing multiple residential and commercial facilities, rental housing development, and program oversight. Christie also has experience as a Grants Specialist at the City of Santa Maria Human Resources Division and as a Housing Programs Specialist at the City of Lompoc.

Christie Alarcon obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Business Administration from Allan Hancock College between the years 1996 and 2003. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration at the University of La Verne from 2004 to 2007.
