Mouhssin Ismail has a diverse work experience that spans across various industries. Mouhssin began their career as a professional cricketer for the Marylebone Cricket Club before transitioning into the legal field as a solicitor at Eversheds Sutherland and later at Norton Rose Fulbright. In 2007, they pursued a career in education and worked as a teacher and learning leader at Seven Kings High School. Mouhssin also served as an assistant headteacher and director of KS5 at the same institution. In 2014, Ismail became the founding principal of Newham Collegiate Sixth Form Centre (The NCS) and held that position until 2022. Mouhssin then joined the City of London Academies Trust as the Chief Standards Officer and took on the role of Regional Director and Executive Principal at Star Academies. Additionally, Ismail has contributed to educational organizations such as the Sutton Trust and IntoUniversity as an advisory panel member. Mouhssin also participated in the Teacher Workload Advisory Group for the Department of Education.
Mouhssin Ismail has a Certificate in School Management & Leadership from Harvard University, a Executive Certificate in High Impact Leadership from the University of Cambridge's Institute of Sustainable Leadership, a PGCE from IOE - UCL's Faculty of Education and Society, a Solicitor Finals - LPC from BPP Law School, and a background in Law from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Additionally, they hold a Professional Solicitor (Non-Practising) certification from The Law Society, obtained in 2005.
