Joanne Zeas has a strong background in human resources and teaching. Joanne started their career in 2000 as a Manager of Employee Relations at Woods Services, where they developed employee relations strategies and supervised a team. From 2004 to 2008, they worked as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Gwynedd Mercy University, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in human resources and business management. Joanne also served as the Director of Human Resources, overseeing all HR functions for the college.
From 2008 to 2015, Joanne worked at Temple University as the Director of HR, where they directed a team responsible for providing services to the School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Joanne supervised HR generalists and played a key role in hiring and expansion.
Joanne then worked as an Affiliate Faculty member at Regis University from 2015 and as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Excelsior College from 2016, teaching adult students in online-format classes related to human resources and business leadership.
In 2015, Joanne joined the City of Longmont as the Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, they lead a team of dedicated HR professionals, providing a full suite of HR services to a growing city. Joanne ensures that HR systems are aligned with the organizational culture and values.
Additionally, Joanne was involved in programming at SEPA SHRM from 2006 to 2009.
Joanne Zeas holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Educational Administration from Temple University, which they earned between the years 2008 and 2013. Prior to that, they completed an MBA degree with a specialization in Human Resources from the Fox School of Business at Temple University from 1994 to 2000. Joanne'sundergraduate studies were done at the University of Maryland, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from 1991 to 1994. Joanne Zeas completed their high school education at Archbishop Ryan from 1987 to 1991. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained certifications in the field of human resources. Joanne obtained a SPHR certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in December 2000, and a SHRM-SCP certification from SHRM in February 2015.
