Kat Douglas Schien

Kat Douglas Schien has a diverse work history spanning over 15 years. Kat'srecent experience includes serving as the Director of Parks, Recreation, & Arts for the City of Manchester since May 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Recreation & Arts Specialist for the same organization from February 2016 to May 2019. Additionally, they served as a Teaching Assistant at Washington University in St. Louis from September 2013 to May 2019. Earlier in their career, Kat held the position of Director at Lifeguards Unlimited from 2008 to 2016, where they were responsible for managing a regional group of aquatic facilities, recruiting/training lifeguards, and overseeing payroll. Kat also worked as a Photographer at the Missouri Botanical Garden from January 2009 to July 2014 and as the Director of Swim Program at the American Red Cross from May 2004 to July 2008. Kat possesses certifications related to lifeguarding, water safety instruction, and pool operation.

Kat Douglas Schien obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Photography & Graphic Design from Union University, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Kat continued their education by pursuing a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree at Washington University in St. Louis, attending from 2012 to 2014. Recently, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, concluding their studies in 2020.
