Matt Jones

Matt Jones is an accomplished urban planner and municipal leader with extensive experience in city government. Currently serving as the Assistant City Manager for the City of Mansfield, Texas Municipal Government since October 2019, Matt has also held the roles of Interim Managing Director of Planning and Development Services and Director of Planning and Development. Prior to this, Matt was the Planning & Development Director for the City of Bastrop from September 2018 to October 2019 and served as the Town Manager and Interim Town Manager for the Town of Argyle from February 2015 to June 2018. Additional experience includes positions as Director of Community Development in the Town of Trophy Club and various planning roles in the Cities of Southlake and Abilene. Matt Jones holds a Bachelor's Degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from Texas State University and a Master's degree in Public Administration from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
