Maryam Lotfi

Maryam Lotfi is an experienced urban planner with a background in development and affordable housing. Currently serving as a Planner - Development for the City of Maple Ridge since August 2023, Maryam previously worked as a Development Planner for Cascadia Green Development from 2020 to August 2023. In this role, responsibilities included conducting due diligence, proforma studies, and consulting on development projects. Prior to this, Maryam volunteered as an Urban Planner & Policy Researcher for the Community Housing Action Committee from 2018 to November 2020, focusing on affordable housing advocacy on the North Shore. Further back, Maryam held the position of Urban Planner & Architect at Alborz Consulting Engineering Company from 2008 to 2015, overseeing city-wide projects in accordance with urban planning policies. Educationally, Maryam is pursuing professional development courses in Urban Planning at Simon Fraser University and holds a Master’s degree in Urban Studies from the same institution, as well as a Master of Architecture from Azad University.
