Dave Johnson

Dave Johnson, CPRP, currently serves as the Assistant City Manager and Director of Parks & Recreation for the City of Maple Valley, WA, since January 2018. With extensive experience in the field, Dave has been a member of the Washington Recreation and Parks Association since 1991. Previous roles include Deputy Director for the City of Edmonds Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services for a brief period in 2017, and Director of Coaching for the Tahoma Basketball Association from August 2015 to June 2017, where responsibilities included coach recruitment and integration within a high school program. Notably, Dave spent 25 years at the City of Tukwila, advancing from Recreation Coordinator to Parks & Recreation Manager, where key accomplishments included budget management, project oversight, and the development of comprehensive recreation plans. Educationally, Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Recreation from Western Washington University, obtained in 1991.
