Bob Parry

Bob Parry currently serves as the Lead for GIS Data and Analytics at the City of Markham, a position held since November 2025. Prior to this, Bob worked as a Data Access and Quality Specialist at York Region, overseeing the Open Data Portal and maintaining the Data Catalogue from January 2023 to November 2025. Bob's experience includes a role as a Data and Analytics Analyst at the City of Richmond Hill, where automated workflows and dashboards were created to enhance data-driven decision-making. Bob also served as a GIS Technologist at York Region, managing projects related to Next Generation 911 and collaborating with local municipalities. Previous roles include Business Development Associate and Applications Support Specialist at Avenza Systems Inc., and GIS Support Analyst at Bell. Bob's early leadership experience includes serving as President of the New College Student Council at the University of Toronto. Bob holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and Political Science from the University of Toronto and a Geographic Information Systems Applications Specialist diploma from Fleming College.
