Katrina Wilson is a native of Miami-Dade County and is a graduate of Miami Carol Senior High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and a Master’s Degree in Reading K-12 from Florida Memorial University. She has also done post graduate work at Nova University in Educational Leadership. She is the proud mother of one very handsome and smart son – Aubrey Davis, Jr., affectionally known as AJ.

Katrina Wilson is a Veteran Educator and Achiever with more than 30 years of service in Miami Dade County Public Schools. She began as a part-time clerk, and then became a teacher at Miami Killian Senior High School where she taught Social Studies Education for 11 years. While there, she wrote and produced five African American History themed plays that were recognized district wide by the Miami Dade County School Board and featured within both public and private schools across Miami Dade County. In 1994, she was selected by then School Board Member and now US Congresswoman Frederica Wilson to work in the establishment of South Florida’s Premier Mentoring Program, the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project as it was piloted within Miami Dade County Public Schools. In 1996, she was appointed as Principal & CEO of Florida’s First Charter School, the Liberty City Charter School which was founded by Florida’s Former Governor Jeb Bush and the President of the Greater Miami Urban League, Mr. T. Willard Fair. For 15 years she tirelessly served the children of Liberty City and served as a leader in the cause to bring education reform throughout the state of Florida. Currently, she works as a Curriculum Support Specialist with Miami Dade County Public Schools.

Katrina Wilson is a Leader, who was recognized early on by her peers and selected as a senior superlative who demonstrated the Most Leadership Ability in her Class. She was President of her sorority and was voted Debutante of the Year for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. She continued to hone her leadership skills in education where was nominated as Teacher of the Year at Miami Killian Sr., and was selected as Charter School Principal of the Year for Miami Dade County. She currently serves as a founding officer and Vice President for the Florida Consortium of Charter Schools. Her work in educational reform led to her appointment as Commissioner on the Florida State Appeals Commission. Additionally, she has received many other notable recognitions and accolades for her leadership skills and accomplishments in education and the community at large.

Katrina Wilson is a Transformer of ideas, concepts and visions. She authored and has been awarded grants in excess of $5 million. Through public, private and governmental partnerships she has worked on major projects both at the local, state and national levels to bring into existence innovative ideas to help educational and community related projects move forward and progress toward reaching their truest potential. More specifically, she co-wrote the largest funded 21st Century Learning grant that represented the first educational partnership among public, private and parochial schools in Florida. She co-wrote and received funding for the South Florida Annenberg Challenge grant where tri-county reform schools received more than $1 million dollars. In addition, she worked with the Children’s Trust on the development of early childhood after-school learning programs for at-risk youth in underserved communities. Additionally, she is a event and community organizer. planned She authored and produced over a five year period 5 plays that were featured by the Miami Dade County School District’s – African American History division which toured high schools throughout the district.

Katrina Wilson is also a sought after Motivational Speaker and Trainer who has served as the keynote speaker for women’s conferences, national educational workshops & conferences. Her areas of expertise and training include grant writing, strategic planning, organizational management, curriculum development and education. Her areas of expertise in motivational speaking include, religion, education, self-esteem building, and developing a love for oneself.
