Nicole Tandel

Nicole Tandel is a seasoned civil engineer with extensive experience in project management and environmental engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Civil Engineer for the City of Millbrae since December 2022, Nicole previously held the position of Senior Project Engineer at Terraphase Engineering Inc. from March 2017 to December 2022, managing large projects and overseeing data analytics and budget management. Prior experience includes roles as Project Engineer and Senior Staff Engineer, focusing on environmental investigations and remediation in the Bay Area. Nicole's earlier positions include Geotechnical Engineer at Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., where responsibilities included reviewing tunnel design engineering drawings, and intern roles at Newmont Mining Corporation and URS Corporation, with a focus on geotechnical engineering and environmental reclamation. Nicole earned a Master of Science in Rock Mechanics in Underground Mining from the University of Nevada, Reno and holds a Civil Engineering degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, along with a certificate in Data Analytics from the University of California, Berkeley.
