Amber Valerius has a diverse work experience starting in 2011 when they worked as a Field Service Coordinator at Lawrence Merchandising Services until 2014. Amber then joined Hennepin County Sheriff in 2014 as a Principal Office Specialist, where they worked until 2016. In 2016, they transitioned to the City of Minneapolis, where they held two roles. Amber started as a Public Works Financial Analyst and later became a Business Applications Manager in May 2019.

Amber Valerius completed their education from 2007 to 2009 at Anoka-Ramsey Community College, earning an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in General Studies. Following this, they attended St. Cloud State University from 2009 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics. In addition to their formal education, Amber has also obtained certifications in various areas such as IBM Cognos Report Studio Authoring, IBM Congos Analytics Advanced Report Authoring, PeopleSoft General Ledger 9, and Peoplesoft from Oracle.
