April Graves serves as a Public Health Specialist in the Youth Development and Youth Violence Prevention division of the Minneapolis Health Department since January 2017. Additionally, April has been an Outreach and Engagement team member at the City of Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board since January 2015, focusing on youth engagement in public schools and community events. Previous roles include Youth Counselor at Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, and an Americorps Promise Fellow with Minnesota Alliance with Youth, dedicated to improving academic achievement among middle school youth. April also has experience as a Youth Employment & Career Services Assistant with Emerge Community Development and Youth Engagement and Programs Coordinator at Juxtaposition Arts. Education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Creative Writing and Social Science from Metro State University and a high school diploma from Saint Paul Central High School.
