Brian O'Hara currently serves as the Chief of Police for the City of Minneapolis since November 2022. Previously, Brian held various positions over a 21-year tenure with the City of Newark, including Deputy Mayor, Director of Public Safety, Deputy Chief of Police, Police Captain, Police Lieutenant, Police Sergeant, and Police Officer. Additionally, Brian was an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice at Kean University from 2019 to 2021. Brian holds a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University - Newark, a Graduate Certificate in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from the University of Virginia, and a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University - Newark.
