John Freude

Principal Policy Aide - Community Safety at City of Minneapolis

John Freude has a diverse work experience history. John started their career in 2014 as an Intern/Project Coordinator at the Iowa Department of Revenue. From there, they worked as a Congressional Intern at the U.S. House of Representatives and as a Legislative Affairs Intern at the Association of Community College Trustees. In 2016, John worked as a Public Affairs Intern at the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group and as a Researcher at ARRM, Association of Residential Resources in Minnesota. John also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. In 2017, John joined the City of Minneapolis, where they held multiple roles, including Elections Specialist, Policy Aide, Senior Policy Aide, and Senior Policy Aide to the Council Vice President. Currently, they are working as a Principal Policy Aide - Community Safety at the City of Minneapolis.

John Freude received their Master's Degree in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English and Political Science at Luther College from 2010 to 2014. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained a certification as a Certified Program Project Manager from the University of St. Thomas in March 2019.
