Ted van Winkle

Lead Housing Inspector at City of Minneapolis

Ted Van Winkle started their work experience as an Intern at Longfellow Community Council in 2006, where they promoted meeting agendas to increase community attendance and informed them about issues related to Light Rail Transit and business development. From 2007 to 2008, they were a Housing Inspector I at the City of Minneapolis, responding to housing complaints, identifying violations, and issuing violation orders. Ted then became a Housing Inspector II from 2008 to 2014, conducting rental licensing inspections, enforcing code violations, and responding to housing complaints. Since 2014, Ted has been working as a Lead Housing Inspector for the City of Minneapolis, where they train and mentors new housing inspectors and creates quality training programs.

Ted Van Winkle completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies at the University of Minnesota from 2003 to 2007. Following this, they pursued a Masters of Science degree in Security Technologies from the University of Minnesota, which they completed from 2010 to 2011.
