Richard Cortez

Richard Cortez has over three decades of experience in public works, currently serving as a Public Works Inspector for the City of Monrovia since July 1987. Key responsibilities include plan checking for private and city projects, as well as the issuance of construction, encroachment, and transportation permits. Additionally, Richard supervises the Utilities Division, focusing on water and sewer construction and maintenance. Prior to this role, Richard worked as a Journeyman Steam Fitter at Local 250 from March 1981 to July 1987, where expertise in steam fitting, welding, and piping installation was developed. Richard is an alumnus of Citrus College.
