Andrew Easterling's work experience starts with their current position as the Deputy Public Works Director/City Engineer at the City of Monterey, where they oversee the Engineering Division and manages the citywide capital improvement program. Prior to this, they worked as a Traffic Engineer at the City of Salinas, where they conducted research, analysis, and planning for traffic operations and managed traffic engineering projects. Before that, they worked as a Project Engineer at Mark Thomas & Company and as a Transportation Engineer at AECOM. Andrew also has experience as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at San Jose State University, where they conducted a life cycle assessment study on premise plumbing systems and provided support in grading and proctoring various engineering classes.
Andrew Easterling received their Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from San Jose State University, with a minor in Mathematics, which they completed from 2007 to 2012. Andrew later pursued a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in Transportation Systems Engineering, at UC Irvine from 2012 to 2013. Additionally, Andrew Easterling has obtained various certifications, including Professional Transportation Planner in 2023, Professional Traffic Operations Engineer in 2018, Traffic Engineer in 2016, Professional Engineer in 2015, Envision Sustainability Professional in 2014, and Road Safety Professional (Level 1) in 2020. Andrew is also a certified Safety Assessment Program (SAP) Evaluator, facilitated by the Cal OES Governor's office of Emergency Services.
