Marissa Garcia, EIT, currently serves as an Engineering Assistant at the City of Monterey, a position held since January 2020. Prior to this role, Marissa worked as a Civil Analyst at Kimley-Horn from July 2016 to January 2020 and gained teaching experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at California Polytechnic State University, where responsibilities included assisting with various courses. Additional academic contributions as a Graduate Research Assistant involved projects for the City of San Juan Bautista and the City of Wasco. Marissa's earlier experience includes internships at Kimley-Horn and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, along with roles as a Student Research Assistant and Tutor. Marissa holds a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning/Master of Science in Engineering with a focus on Transportation from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California State University, Chico.
