Richard Grenier has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. From 1990 to 1999, they worked as an Architect, Analyst, and Developer at DMR. Richard then joined Desjardins General Insurance Group in 1999 as an Architect and Business Analyst. In the same year, they also worked at DMR consulting inc. as a Project Manager and Business Architect. In 2002, Richard became the Director of Thales Research & Technology (TRT) Canada, where they managed the office's personnel, operations, finances, and intellectual property. During their time at Thales, they initiated the deployment of Agile methodology and led a research program in diverse areas such as urban sciences, data science, AI, cybersecurity, IoT, and more. In 2016, Richard joined Ville de Montréal, initially as the Director of Digital Solutions, and in 2019, they took on the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) in charge of the Information Technology Service. In this position, they oversaw the digital transformation efforts, including the implementation of web and mobile platforms, improving customer experience, and developing numerous digital services.
Richard Grenier attended Université de Sherbrooke from 1987 to 1990, where they obtained a B. Sc. degree in Computer Science. Richard also holds a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
