Allison Ladd serves as the Deputy Mayor and Director of Economic and Housing Development for the City of Newark since August 2019, under Mayor Ras J. Baraka. In conjunction with this role, Ladd is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Invest Newark. Prior experience includes positions such as Deputy Director and Chief of Staff at the DC Department of Housing and Community Development (February 2015 - July 2019) during the tenure of Mayor Muriel E. Bowser, Associate Executive Director at the DC Housing Finance Agency (February 2007 - February 2015) under Mayors Adrian M. Fenty and Vincent Gray, and Chief of Staff at the MD Department of Housing and Community Development (September 2003 - February 2007) for Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. Ladd also held various roles in the Department of Housing and Community Development and other organizations. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and Community Planning from the University of Rhode Island, a Master of Community Planning from the University of Maryland, and completion of the Leading Economic Growth program at Harvard Kennedy School.
