James Dingwall

James Richards has over two decades of experience in engineering leadership and software development. Currently serving as the CTO at Udacity since May 2016, James has held multiple roles including VP of Engineering and Director of Engineering. Prior experience includes a managerial position at Nest Labs and various engineering roles at LinkedIn, where responsibilities encompassed managing teams focused on Groups, Company Profiles, and News Recommendations. James also has a background as a Senior Software Engineer at DemandTec and E Patterns, and began a career at IBM. James holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from UC Santa Barbara.
