Anthony Geraci has a diverse and extensive work experience in law enforcement and education. Anthony served as the Chief of Police for the City of Newburgh, New York, starting in 2021. Prior to that, they were the Owner, Consultant, and Lead Instructor for Principled Policing Strategies, LLC since 2020.
Before their role at Principled Policing Strategies, LLC, Geraci served as the Chief of Police for the City of Watervliet from 2019 to 2020. In this role, they were responsible for the overall management of the police department and implemented various initiatives to improve operations, community relationships, and employee wellness.
From 2003 to 2019, Geraci had multiple roles within the City of Albany, New York's police department. Anthony served as a Lieutenant, Unit Commander of the Neighborhood Engagement Unit, where they led and coordinated various units and implemented crime prevention strategies. Anthony also served as a Lieutenant, Unit Commander of Training, Policy, and Strategic Planning, overseeing the development and implementation of training programs for the department. Other roles they held during their time in Albany include Lieutenant, Patrol, Police Sergeant, and Police Officer.
In addition to their law enforcement roles, Geraci has experience in education. Anthony worked as an Adjunct Professor at the University at Albany, SUNY from 2016 to 2018, and also at Columbia-Greene Community College from 2006 to 2008.
Before their career in New York, Geraci was a Police Officer in the New York City Police Department from 1998 to 2003.
Anthony Geraci has a Master's degree in Public Administration from Marist College. Anthony attended Marist College from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from John Jay College (CUNY), where they studied from 1997 to 1999.
