Derek Perry

Derek Perry has extensive experience in economic development, currently serving as the Assistant Director at the City of Newport News Department of Development since December 2013. Prior roles within the department include Economic Development Manager, Senior Economic Analyst, and Project Development Coordinator. Prior to this, Derek worked as a Research Assistant at the Virginia Center for Housing Research from June 2012 to May 2014. Educational achievements include a Master of Urban and Regional Planning and a Master of Public Administration from Virginia Tech, obtained between 2012 and 2014, as well as a B.S. in Environmental Policy and Planning and a B.A. in International Studies from Virginia Tech, completed in 2012.
