Benitez Jose

Benitez Jose has extensive experience in public administration and financial management, currently serving as Bureau Manager of Planning and Administration and previously as Financial Operations Manager and Senior Budget and Policy Analyst for the City of Norfolk, VA since September 2004. In these roles, Benitez prepares the annual operating and capital budget for various departments and oversees position control to assess fiscal year expenditure impacts. Prior to this, from September 1994 to August 2004, Benitez held the position of Director of Regulatory Quality Assurance and Environmental Management Information Systems at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, where responsibilities included analyzing and preparing statistical reports for executive leadership and managing inspectional data for Environmental Health Services. Benitez began career in this department as a Staff Analyst, developing automated reporting systems and enhancing network capabilities. Benitez holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Baruch College, earned between 1990 and 1992.
