Chief Of Fire-rescue/emergency Manager at City of North Myrtle Beach

Tom Barstow has a diverse work experience. Tom served as the President of the South Carolina State Association of Fire Chiefs starting in 2014. Prior to that, they worked at the City of North Myrtle Beach since 1980, where they held the position of Chief of Fire-Rescue/Emergency Manager. In this role, they managed a 50-man fire rescue department, handled department planning and budget control, and managed the Emergency Operations Center during disasters. Before joining the City of North Myrtle Beach, they worked at the Roswell Park Memorial Institute as the New York State Institute Safety Officer from 1973 to 1980.

Tom Barstow obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Administration from Memphis State University, where they studied from 1990 to 1993. Additionally, they attended the National Fire Academy to obtain an Executive Fire Officer certification, although the dates of their enrollment are unspecified.
