Julie Leonard

Julie Leonard is a seasoned public works professional with extensive experience managing large teams across various city departments. Currently serving as the Assistant Director of Public Works for the City of Oakland Park since October 2019, Julie oversees a workforce of 50 employees in solid waste, fleet, building, and parks maintenance divisions. Previously, Julie held the position of Deputy Director in the Transportation and Mobility Department at the City of Fort Lauderdale, managing 120 employees, and served as Deputy Public Works Director for Utilities Operations, overseeing a team of over 300. Julie's expertise includes strategic planning, budget administration exceeding $100 million, contract negotiation, and regulatory compliance, complemented by a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management from Florida Atlantic University.
