Michael Lavery

Michael Lavery is an experienced professional in leisure services and urban management, currently serving as the Assistant Director of Leisure Services for the City of Oldsmar, Florida, since June 2023. Prior to this role, Lavery worked as a Construction Superintendent for Reno Boyd Building Co. from October 2022 to June 2023 and held multiple positions at the City of Clearwater between July 2017 and October 2022, including Assistant to the City Manager, Parks Senior Manager, and Parks Planning and Support Specialist. Lavery’s earlier career includes significant roles at the City of New York/Parks and Recreation, where responsibilities ranged from Park and Recreation Manager to Deputy Director of Capital Projects. Michael Lavery holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies/Affairs from Brown University, earned between 1999 and 2004.
