Aquilla Hurd-Ravich has a diverse work experience in the field of community development and planning. Aquilla currently serves as the Community Development Director for the City of Oregon City, a position they have held since February 2022. Prior to this, they were the Interim Community Development Director for the same city from November 2021 to February 2022.

Before their role in Oregon City, Aquilla worked at the City of Tualatin, where they served as the Community Development Director from March 2018 to October 2020. Aquilla also held the positions of Planning Manager from April 2011 to March 2018 and Senior Planner from November 2007 to April 2011.

Aquilla's career in planning started at the City of Torrance, where they worked as an Associate Planner from November 2006 to October 2007. Aquilla also held roles as a Planning Assistant from November 2004 to November 2006 and as a Planning Intern from February 2004 to November 2004. During their time in Torrance, they gained experience in interpreting and explaining zoning regulations, reviewing development applications, and writing staff reports.

Earlier in their career, Aquilla worked as a Grants Coordinator for Westside Family Health Center from November 2000 to February 2004. Aquilla also served as a Program Manager for Best Buddies California from 1998 to 2000, managing college community service programs.

Aquilla Hurd-Ravich has a strong background in community development, planning, and project management, with extensive experience in various roles within municipal organizations. Aquilla is dedicated to promoting sustainable and inclusive growth in communities.

Aquilla Hurd-Ravich earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Anthropology and Political Science from the University of Southern California in 1998. Aquilla continued their education and obtained a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona in 2006. Additionally, in August 2008, Aquilla obtained a certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
