Scott A. Herring

Battalion Chief at City of Oxnard

Battalion Chief Scott A. Herring began his career in the fire service in 1987 with the Arroyo Grande Fire Department. Over the next ten years he worked as a firefighter with the Kern Valley Hot–Shots, Vandenberg Hot-Shots, California Division of Fire Protection (Cal Fire), Warner Brothers Fire Department, and the Vandenberg Air Force Base Fire Department. Chief Herring joined the Oxnard Fire Department in 1997 and held the rank of firefighter and engineer before being promoted to captain in 2006. Over the last thirty-four years he has been honored to serve in each assignment, specifically as a member of the Oxnard Fire Department.

Chief Herring is currently assigned as the C-Shift Battalion Chief, Battalion 60. He oversees Ocean Rescue, Wildland and Honor Guard Programs.
