André Sayegh

Andre Sayegh serves as the Mayor of Paterson, New Jersey, since July 2018, where notable achievements include the successful re-branding of the city, resulting in increased financial investment and economic development. Sayegh has extensive experience in academia as an Adjunct Professor at Passaic County Community College and William Paterson University, instructing courses in various disciplines. Prior roles include City Councilman in Paterson, where Sayegh championed progressive legislation and served as City Council President, and Executive Director of the Paterson Alliance, where efforts focused on advancing community quality of life initiatives. Sayegh has held key positions as Chief of Staff for State Senator John A. Girgenti and Field Representative for U.S. Representative Bill Pascrell, Jr., with a strong foundation in media relations and community engagement. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Public Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in History from Seton Hall University.
