Chris Ryder has over a decade of work experience in government and public relations. Chris started their career in 1998 as a Marketing/Sales Representative at Dataguide. In 2004, they transitioned to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, House of Representatives, where they worked as a Legislative Aide for four years. In 2008, they joined the Massachusetts State Senate as a Communications Director for a brief period of six months. From 2009 to 2012, Chris served as a District Director at the Office of the Majority Whip, Massachusetts House of Representatives. Chris then moved to the City of Peabody, where they have been serving as the Chief of Staff since 2012.
Chris Ryder attended Northeastern University from 1990 to 1994, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained certifications in Conflict of Interest Law from the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission in October 2019 and as a Public Information Officer from the North Shore Cape Ann Emergency Preparedness Coalition in October 2013.
