Ami Patel

Ami Patel, MPA has diverse work experience in both the public and private sectors. Ami currently holds the position of Deputy Budget Director for Policy and Strategic Initiatives at the City of Philadelphia, where they have been working since January 2024. Prior to this role, they served as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer for the same organization from December 2020 to January 2024. Ami also has experience as a Community Engagement Specialist & Program Coordinator at the City of Philadelphia from January 2020 to December 2020.

In addition to their work with the City of Philadelphia, they have also worked at the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania. Ami has served as a Capstone Advisor since January 2024 and as a Teaching Assistant since January 2022.

Before joining the City of Philadelphia, Ami worked as a Policy Fellow and participated in the Mayor's Internship Program from September 2018 to August 2019. Ami also has experience in the private sector as a Senior Business Analyst at Accenture, where they focused on process improvement within the Employer Reporting functional area for the New York State and Local Retirement System from February 2017 to January 2018.

Prior to Accenture, Ami worked as a Program Director at CORE Scholarships, where they managed an AFI grant from the Department of Health and Human Services, enabling low-income high school students to learn about financial literacy and obtain college scholarships from March 2016 to February 2017. Ami also worked at CORE Scholarships as a Business Development Intern from May 2012 to August 2013.

Ami began their career as a Business and Systems Integration Consulting Analyst at Accenture from February 2014 to December 2015. Ami Patel's work experience demonstrates their expertise in financial management, community engagement, program coordination, and strategic planning.

Ami Patel, MPA holds a master's degree in Public Administration from the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania, obtained from 2018 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed their bachelor's degree in Operations and Technology Management from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University, graduating in 2014.
