Carl Kolbe has extensive experience in the building inspection and management sector, currently serving as the Deputy Chief Building Official & Manager of Building Services for the City of Pickering since February 2013. In this role, Carl provides guidance to supervisory staff, ensures compliance with legislation, and maintains effective communication with stakeholders. Previous roles include Deputy Chief Building Official & Supervisor of Building Inspections and Building Inspector, where responsibilities encompassed conducting mandatory inspections and overseeing permit processes. Carl is also engaged with the Ontario Building Officials Association as an instructor and Editor In Chief of the OBOA Journal. Educational qualifications include a Master's Certificate in Public Sector Management from Ontario Tech University and diplomas related to fire safety and law enforcement from Georgian College. Additionally, Carl is a volunteer firefighter and has experience as a part-time professor at George Brown College.
