Fire Chief at City of Pickering

Stephen Boyd has extensive experience in fire services, currently serving as Fire Chief for the City of Pickering since October 2017, after holding the position of Deputy Fire Chief. In June 2024, Stephen Boyd became the Regional Fire Coordinator for Durham Region. Prior to this, Stephen Boyd worked at the City of Oshawa from January 2012 to September 2017, where responsibilities included oversight of the Support Services Division and the Operations Division as Deputy Fire Chief. Stephen Boyd's career in the City of Oshawa began in September 1987, progressing through roles such as Training Officer, Captain Fire Services, Fire Prevention Officer, and Firefighter. Educationally, Stephen Boyd holds an Advanced Diploma in Public Administration and Governance from Ryerson University and a Company Officer Diploma in Fire/Arson Investigation and Prevention from the Ontario Fire College.
