Michael Alpert is an experienced urban planner currently serving as the Assistant Director for the City of Plantation since May 2022, where responsibilities include acting as a staff liaison for the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and the Local Planning Agency, among other roles. Prior to this, Michael worked as a Land Planner at Greenspoon Marder LLP, focusing on land use planning in Broward County, and held several positions over 24 years with the City of Miramar, culminating in the role of Principal Planner. Michael has extensive experience in development review and community planning, having chaired key committees and participated in projects such as the Miramar Town Center Master Plan. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Geography from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography with a minor in Economics from the same institution. Additional experience includes architectural roles and early career positions related to customer service and surveying.
