Ethan Hipple

Ethan Hipple has extensive experience in parks, recreation, and conservation management, currently serving as the Director of the Parks, Recreation, and Facilities Department for the City of Portland, Maine since January 2016, after holding positions including Deputy Director and Parks Manager. Previously, Ethan held the position of Director of Parks and Recreation in the Town of Wolfeboro, NH, where responsibilities included overseeing operations, budgeting, and programming for a seasonal community. Ethan also directed the NH Conservation Corps at the Student Conservation Association, managing a significant AmeriCorps program and its budget. Earlier roles include managing a national youth conservation program and authoring the outdoor adventure guide "Outdoors with Kids: Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont." Ethan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Outdoor Education and Writing from Prescott College.
