Robert Gelder

Robert Gelder currently serves as the City Administrator for the City of Poulsbo since January 2025. Prior to this role, Gelder was the Assistant County Manager for Thurston County Government from April 2023 to January 2025 and served as County Commissioner for District 1 in Kitsap County from March 2011 to May 2023. Earlier experience includes positions as Director of Development and Community Relations at Martha & Mary Lutheran Services, along with various leadership roles in nonprofit and public sectors, such as Director of Development at Washington Health Foundation and Executive Director at GAGV. Educational background includes a BA in Political Science from the University of Rochester and a brief study at the University of Oslo in 1988.
