Barbara Lopez CPA, CGFM has significant work experience in finance and accounting. Barbara most recently served as the Finance Director at the City of Puyallup since August 2019. Prior to that, they worked at the City of Kent, Washington, where they held various roles including Interim Finance Director, Deputy Finance Director, and Financial Planning Manager from 2010 to 2019. Barbara also gained experience at Sound Transit as a Business Applications Supervisor and E1 Application Administrator from 2006 to 2010. Earlier in their career, they worked at the City of Kent as a Senior Accountant, Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Analyst, and Accounting Services Assistant from 1989 to 2006.
Barbara Lopez CPA, CGFM holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Griffin College. Additionally, they obtained their Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the Washington State Board of Accountancy in July 1999 and their Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) certification from the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) in November 1996.
