Melody McKnight holds a Master’s degree in Music Performance from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor’s degree with Distinction in Music Performance from Brandon University, along with an Associateship Diploma in Piano Performance from the University of Alberta. Currently, Melody McKnight serves as a Funding and Business Supports Specialist for the City of Red Deer and as a Board Member for the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. Melody McKnight has extensive experience in the arts sector, having been the Principal Oboe and Executive Director of the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra since 1997, and previously held roles as Retail Manager and Marketing Director at Morguard Real Estate Investment Trust. In addition, Melody McKnight contributed to the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra as a First Call extra musician for the Oboe section and as Director of Production and Music Administration. Further education includes a Marketing I degree from the International Council of Shopping Centres and a Rozsa Arts Management Diploma from the Haskayne School of Business.
