Christopher Boatman serves as the Assistant City Manager and Facilities and Community Services Director for the City of Redlands, with a tenure beginning in March 2007. Boatman oversees a comprehensive department that includes Parks, Recreation, Building Maintenance, and other crucial city services, managing 138 employees and an annual budget of approximately $50 million. Prior roles included Assistant Director in the Quality of Life Department and Senior Project Manager where significant projects such as the development of Heritage Park were executed. Boatman's earlier experience includes positions as an Associate Planner and Marketing Specialist at Esri, along with ownership of a small business. Boatman holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from California State University-San Bernardino and a Bachelor's degree in Business and History from the University of California, Riverside.

The City of Redlands, incorporated in 1888, in the San Bernardino Valley, 63 miles east of Los Angeles, 110 miles north of San Diego, and 500 miles southeast of San Francisco. It lies within the San Bernardino Valley in the southwestern portion of San Bernardino County, covering an area of 36 square miles within the heart of the Inland Empire. It serves a population of approximately 70,000 residents.
